Itzel Rendon

Itzel is a Marcy Lab School legend. As a Fall 2020 Fellow, she found a way to not only complete the Fellowship during a fully-remote, pandemic school year but to excel while doing it. She was one of the top performing Fellow's of her class, landing an internship at Democracy Works, using the functional programming language Clojure to write software that would help marginalized communities register to vote and identify their polling places. At the end of her Fellowship year, she was elected by her peers to join The Marcy Lab School's Board of Directors as a Young Trustee. And now, we’re fortunate to have her on our team as a Senior Associate Instructor for the next generation of Marcy Fellows!

As well-rounded as they come, when Itzel is not pushing our Fellows to be the best engineers they can be, she is practicing her calligraphy, bullet journaling, or visiting her younger brothers and sisters. She is currently listening to I Secretly Love U by Snail’s House.
